The History Of The Dave Clark Five
August 2009 Week 1
Commentary by Dick Young:
The two CD set was supervised by group leader and drummer Dave Clark himself. The set is the most significant Dave Clark Five catalog of hits. Excellent booklet included. Between February 1964 and June 1966, the Dave Clark Five recorded fifteen consecutive top-twenty American hits. That’s more than The Beatles, Stones or Beach Boys. Why it took until March 10, 2008 for the Dave Clark Five to get inducted into Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame beats me. The band’s excellent and dynamic lead singer Mike Smith died on February 28, 2008.
