Throughout most of COVID-19, New Hampshire schools masked on a districtwide basis. Most states have ended their mask mandates in schools, but some districts in the Live Free or Die states just can’t let them go. Most of the state’s GOP politicians want to end the ability of districts to enforce their own mandates. The New Hampshire State House passed Bill 1131 to do just that. WMUR reports:
A bill banning mask mandates in schools is heading to the state Senate after the House approved it on a mostly party-line vote on Tuesday.
House Bill 1131 prevents any school board, district, or superintendent from adopting or enforcing a mandatory mask policy.
Supporters said masking should be a parental choice.
Action Line: Is there anything wrong with parental choice? As Sen. Rand Paul pointed out, masks were just hygiene theater. Preempting bad policy by school districts, and giving parents back their power over their children makes sense. That type of individual empowerment is what makes the “Live Free or Die” state of New Hampshire #1 on my list of 2022 Super States. Americans are fleeing the states where politicians’ relationships with businesses extend to COVID-19 mandates and demands for higher taxes. Instead, they are heading for places where politicians treat them like valued customers, and with respect. If you’re serious about moving your family and business to a state where you are treated with respect, there’s no better time than now.
