You know that when it comes to making money, my number one investment is YOU. You’re the one who’s saving money, doing less with more, and taking care of your family. You’re the one doing what it takes.
But somewhere along the line, your success makes doing what you do just a little bit more difficult. Sure, you know how to make money. But now what? What you need to figure out is how to keep it, and get a little growth to keep pace with inflation. I know. Easier said than done.
In my conversations with you, you’re telling me about the business environment in your neck of the woods. You’re telling me about the price increases up and down the fragile supply chain. You’re telling me about your valued team and how important they are in making it all work. And you’re not the only one who values the team, as customers are leaving them hundred-dollar tips.
You’re telling me about your dad. How he’s struggling with the passing of your mom, and how there’s a void you just can’t fill. You help. But getting their finances in order, plus yours, is too much to handle while you’re doing everything under the sun at your job.
You called me last Friday to tell me about friends of yours who need help investing. You’re a trusted advisor to a lot of them because you’re a CFP by training. You introduced me to them, and we had a real nice conversation Monday. They trust you, making our initial conversation that much more productive. Trust is the grease that makes the wheel turn allowing stressful points to be expressed more freely.
Yesterday, after work, Becky and I met my parents for dinner at the Red Dory in Tiverton, RI. One of our favorites. It’s a great meeting point between Newport, RI, and Mattapoisett, MA. We shared a small plate of fried oysters to get the night going. My dad told me he went quohogging and gave us a dozen or so littlenecks to make chowder this week or have on the half shell.
Action Line: Just another day in the life of Your Survival Guy, living the life with you. Thank you for your trust.
