The turmoil and chaos known as commercial flight makes even the idea of flying a nightmare. It’s just a matter of how much hassle and aggravation you’ll be dealing with as thousands of flights were canceled or delayed this weekend alone.
Where did all the workers go? Will they ever return? Who knows. But the fact remains the current situation is not pretty and could herald a long-term, tectonic shift in air travel. Period. Ever since the government installed Covid restrictions and ruined commercial air travel, I’ve shifted to private charters. I will not deal with Boston’s Logan Airport for the time being if I can help it. And I can.
Instead, I work with Andrew Flaxman, Director of Operations/Pilot at ExpertJet, and Trip Support Manager/Pilot Michael Donovan, to get me literally from door to door. The latest trip was to Paris and back. Is it expensive? Well, that depends on how much you’re willing to spend on your peace of mind and comfort. My tolerance for disruptions is about as low as you’d expect. And once you start factoring in the split costs between friends and family, you might be surprised at how accessible private flight is for you. Bon Voyage!
