Way back in the ’30s, as Sally Fallon writes, Dr. Weston Price identified 14 isolated villages around the world in which almost every resident was free of chronic disease. Dr. Price found that when villagers moved away and switched to the Western diet of refined carbohydrates and devitalized fats and oils, bad things happened fast. Those consuming refined grains, canned foods, pasteurized milk, and sugar quickly developed degenerative illness, infectious disease, infertility, and tooth decay. By contrast, villagers who remained back at home, away from the Western diet, were basically free of chronic diseases. The message here is simple, isn’t it?
