Great News: The Downfall of an American Company
Maybe you aren’t especially keen on Tesla or its CEO. Or even on President Trump, for that matter. But I hope you aren’t wallowing in the heartless attacks on an innovative American company. As far as Elon Musk goes, he looks to be vying for the #1 slot for “most-hated man.”
A rhetorical and physical war is being waged against Tesla to protest founder Musk’s role in “identifying waste, fraud, and abuse throughout the federal government” (oh, the outrage!). In NRO, Brittany Bernstein reports on Democratic activists’ class’s less-than-lucid attacks on anyone who would support the new administration ferreting out fraud and waste.
Making Things Worse Gives Walz a Little Lift?
Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’s failed Democratic VP candidate, said that he checks Tesla’s stock daily to give himself “a little boost during the day.” (The stock has been falling in recent weeks). Attempting to save face, Walz lamely offered that his comments were a joke.
Take Peaceful Protest with a “Grain of Salt”
Representative Jasmine Crockett (D., Texas): All the US rep wants is to see Elon Musk “taken down.” Following criticism for her unartful wording, she did skillfully clarify by stating that she in not calling for “violence.”
This, from a member of the same party that called on Republicans to tone down their rhetoric after Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt last summer.
Adding to her pithy comments, according to American Greatness, Jasmine Crokett said she believes Democrats need to “punch” opponents to win elections in Texas, especially Republican politicians like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who she said needs to be “knocked over the head, like hard.”
Even more interesting, albeit puzzling, is Ms. Crockett’s aggressive campaign against the E car. Rep. Crockett apparently leases a luxury Tesla sports sedan.
Left-Wing Resistance
After attacking Tesla properties, including Tesla vehicles, charging stations, and dealerships around the country, three suspects are facing federal charges. Pam Brodie, Donald Trump’s AG, described the attacks as “nothing short of domestic terrorism.”
Is this really the reaction from a party that is 100% behind the Green New Deal?
Threat Advisory
Several late-night TV hosts found the whole situation amusing.
Jimmy Kindal pleaded with his audience. “Please don’t vandalize. Don’t ever vandalize Tesla vehicles.”
At The Daily Show, the audience cheered as the show played news reports about the vandalism against Tesla.
Comedy Central co-host Jordan Klepper chided the crowd,
“Wow. Okay, let me just say, nobody should be breaking the law and blowing up Tesla’s. Especially because if you just wait a few minutes, they’ll probably do it by themselves.”
A Jewish owner of a Cybertruck was defaced with a swastika by an anti-Elon Musk protester in Brooklyn.
Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson published a Substack post headlined, “Kill Tesla, Save the Country.” Here’s his statement:
“Tesla is no longer just a car company; it’s a bank for fascists, a goose-stepping hedge fund bankrolling the political fever dreams of Elon Musk and his DOGE dreams of controlling the ruins of the American government as he becomes Earth’s first trillionaire and then the Emperor of Mars.”
There are plenty more media mises, continues Ms. Bernstein.
Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, is suddenly concerned about Covid school closures.
“And so, what I don’t want is, I don’t want it so shut down in so many ways that kids are really hurt. And then somebody says, ‘Oops, we didn’t mean to do that.’ Kids go through kindergarten once. We already saw during Covid the longstanding problems that happened when schools were shut down too long. We got to make sure we get this right for kids.”
Oh, bliny. Somehow, Randi has forgotten that she accused the Trump administration of reopening schools by fall 2020 of being “reckless,” “callous,” and “cruel.”
From The Federalist:
There is a new website called “Dogequest,” which has allegedly published personal details of Tesla owners across the United States, sparking concerns over privacy and security.”
Model 3 Tesla: Solid, Quick, Strong
According to an objective, empirical review in the WSJ, “the 2022-vintage Model 3 is a fantastic little car—rock solid, quick and strong, with a host of cabin conveniences and an infotainment system that only gets better with time,” thanks to regular updates.
With a five-star crash rating, it is also one of the safest cars on the road.
