The tech world declared war on President Trump last week, shutting down his accounts, along with those of many of his supporters. Twitter and Facebook led the onslaught by closing down the President’s accounts.
Censoring the President of the United States would be bad enough on its own, but tech companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon then attacked (seemingly arbitrarily) Parler, an up and coming social network focused on preserving the free speech of its users. They went after Parler because it gave the President a platform to reach his supporters.
Google, where the mission is “Don’t Be Evil,” Apple, where people are encouraged to “Think Different” (as long as it’s the same as Tim Cook, apparently), and Amazon which bills itself as “Earth’s most customer centric company,” all shut down services for their customer, Parler, effectively taking the platform offline.
For their arrogance and disregard of the rights of the American people, the CEOs of these companies are the Asses of the Week.
