When talking about gun control, Democrats usually couch their language in the terms of “gun safety” and “reasonable restrictions,” but every so often, they let it slip exactly what they want to do. Back in September 2020, Beto O’Rourke told viewers of a Democratic presidential primary debate, “hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”
And if that weren’t bad enough, after securing Beto’s endorsement in the general election, Joe Biden told voters that “I want to make something clear: I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’re seeing of this guy. You’re [O’Rourke] going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you. We need you badly, the state needs you, the country needs you, you’re the best.” On his blog, LewRockwell.com, Llewellyn Rockwell writes (abridged):
Make no mistake about, brain-dead Biden and his gang of criminals want to take our guns away.
And these efforts didn’t start with him. As James Bovard pointed out in 2020, ““’Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15,’ declared ‘Beto’ O’Rourke at a Democratic party presidential candidate debate in September. Compelling Americans to surrender their so-called assault weapons is ‘the newest purity test’ for Democratic presidential candidates, according to the Washington Post. O’Rourke and other Democratic presidential candidates, including Cory Booker, Kristin Gillibrand, and Bill de Blasio (now withdrawn from the race, as are Gillibrand and O’Rourke) have all endorsed mandatory buy-backs of assault weapons.
Though such proposals are momentarily politically profitable, they could start a cascade of public-policy dominoes that ends in civil war.
Getting gun rights right is essential to getting all rights right. Our country faces now and has always faced a confrontation between those people who adhere to unalienable rights and those who adhere to usurpation through improper government, between those who believe in and defend freedom and those who defend rule by usurpers that undercuts our unalienable rights.”

Don’t miss Lauren Boebert getting in Beto O’Rourke’s face even before she was a member of Congress, fighting for Americans’ gun rights.
