In a frenzied attempt to put a wedge between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the media has been desperately looking for any angle that could separate the two. Musk had always maintained that his involvement with the administration was temporary, and his special employment with the government ends in May. Now, both Trump and Vice President JD Vance have explained that Musk will remain a friend to the administration beyond that point. Musk, for his part, is expected to return to his full-time work at his various companies.
Vance told the hosts of Fox News’s Fox and Friends show, “Of course, he’s going to continue to be an advisor. And by the way, the work of DOGE is not even close to done. The work of Elon is not even close to done.”
