The Results Could Be Catastrophic
You don’t need to be a slave to headline news to understand the dangerous time for our country and the world. As James Freeman reports in the WSJ, perhaps it would be less dangerous if both sides of the political aisle would acknowledge President Joe Biden’s situation “and call for the president-elect to immediately take a larger role in White House discussions of foreign policy.”
Particularly jarring is the idea of a president ostensibly changing his mind on something as momentous as enabling Ukrainian missile attacks inside Russia. Is it any wonder that the public questions whether the president is even competent enough to explain his decision?
The WSJ continues:
According to Vladimir Putin, speaking on Russian television, his country has the right to use its weapons on other nations that allow their weapons to be used against Russia. Moscow has warned of a response to Ukrainian strikes against its territory using long-range Western arms this week, including U.S.-made ATACMS and British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles…
The missile, a new intermediate-range experimental model, was fired by Moscow as part of its continuing effort to deter the West from helping Ukraine.
VP Kamala Harris and other senior administration officials have been failing an integrity test by participating in the charade that Mr. Biden, who turned 82 on Wednesday, remains mentally fit to lead.
For his part, President Joe Biden isn’t doing much to encourage the public to reconsider its assessment of his infirmities.
From the Associated Press
President Joe Biden has been notably quiet since the Democrats’ gut-wrenching defeat at the polls…
During his six-day visit to Peru and Brazil for meetings with global leaders, Biden declined to hold a news conference — typically a set piece for American presidents during such travel. Biden already was far less likely to hold news conferences than his contemporaries, but his staff often points to off-the-cuff moments when he answers questions from reporters who travel everywhere with him. In this case, he’s yet to engage even in an impromptu Q&A on the election or other matters.
At a delicate moment in the U.S. — and for the world — Biden’s silence may be leaving a vacuum. But his public reticence has also underscored a new reality: America and the rest of the world is already moving on.
Is President Joe Bien pushing the U.S. to the brink of war with Russia by arming Ukraine with long-range missiles and antipersonnel mines?
From John Ullyot, a former National Security Council spokesman during Trump’s last presidency:
“We’ve got two months going in this administration,” said Ullyot. “President Trump has said he is going to ramp this war down. Why are we provoking the Russians and then having a tit-for-tat?”
Put in Play a Strategy
So, asks Mr. Freeman, who is in charge at the White House? An unelected and anonymous group of Beltway creatures?
This is not acceptable in our constitutional republic. We are a nation of laws and it’s quite clear what our supreme law, the Constitution, says in its 25th Amendment.
Step one, advises Mr. Freeman, is for Vice President “Kamala Harris and the rest of the cabinet to insist on a rigorous battery of cognitive tests conducted by eminent physicians.”
If Mr. Biden can pass, then he should be allowed to serve until the end of his term in January. If not, then surely there would be the necessary votes in Congress to deprive him of his powers and duties.
